Amanda Lee - Southern Voices
Piano teacher by day, accompanist by night, Amanda is a musician based in Hobart, Tasmania. Four years after moving away from her hometown in Malaysia to pursue music in Australia, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours from UTAS in August 2016, specialising in Classical Piano Performance under the guidance of award-winning pianist, Shan Deng. As a passionate performer, she has been performing with several local community choirs, school choirs, chamber ensembles, and has also played for various local theatre productions over the years. A large part of her teaching career these days is specialising in aural musicianship for children and students of all ages with a goal to nurture and cultivate their love and interest for music while constantly developing their skills, creativity and confidence in music making and performance. Further down the track, she hopes to continue focusing on the advantages of music learning in early childhood development.
